Connect with IFSA Talent

There’s more than one way to get involved and tap into IFSA’s pool of talented students.
1. Challenge projects.
Each semester, teams of IFSA Career Accelerator students tackle prescribed assignments from London-based research institutes, early-stage bioscience startups, multinational biopharma companies, venture capital firms, and organizations dedicated to improving public health. This is your opportunity to:
- Advance research
- Investigate a new opportunity
- Approach a thorny problem in a new way
The Moore Lab Challenge. Students researched vaccines and adjuvants to inform development of a guide for pairing of antigens and adjuvants in vaccines.
The ToxiProofAI Challenge. For a company that supports drug developers, students gathered toxicity information and developed a mobile app that predicts the safety of everyday chemicals and medications.
The Dove Foundation for Global Change Challenge. Students explored 11 areas that challenge women’s health and developed practical policy recommendations to guide investment in global improvement.
- Meet with IFSA to finalize the scope and details of your project.
- Attend a kick-off meeting with IFSA students and our project coordinator.
- Attend one or two check-ins to gather feedback and monitor progress.
- Attend the final presentation. Take away your deliverables, ready to apply to your projects and endeavors.
2. Guest speakers.
Foster the next generation of biosciences and health sciences innovators and boost your CV by sharing your experience and specialized knowledge as clinical practitioner or researcher, public health specialist, or life science leader with IFSA Career Accelerator students.
Recently, London health care delivery experts Dr. Marie-Sophie Gomm, Dr. Sophie Guérinet of Kedrion Biopharma, and child psychiatrist Dr. Wendy Woodhouse joined a Health Care Sciences Career Accelerator cohort for a roundtable discussion that spanned:
- Patient advocacy
- The power of an interdisciplinary team to improve health outcomes
- Healthcare inequities
- Using your strengths to impact your career
- Maintaining work/life balance
Our first cohort has . . . been a tremendous success. The energy, talent, and innovation demonstrated throughout the program have been truly inspiring.

3. Company/clinical visits and workshops.
Welcoming IFSA students to your workplace for a few hours provides a look inside the world of biosciences and health care and brings career descriptions to life.
We also welcome partners to help students build industry-specific skills. Most recently, Hey Presto! Communications—a firm that specializes in messaging strategy and content development for biosciences and pharmaceutical clients—hosted a workshop called Communicating Complexity with Clarity.
4. Networking events.
Get to know our program and students in an informal environment. You might see us at a Creative Disruption Forum event, where we sometimes take students to learn from thought leaders and network with professionals who are part of the UK biosciences ecosystem. Events at our center in Mayfair provide additional professional opportunities. See our Events page to learn more.
5. Industry network.
Partnering with IFSA and our Career Accelerator programs has perks for founders, company leaders, and research-focused organizations:
- Opportunities to network, scout talent, and explore new business opportunities.
- A mention on our website that shows your dedication to the industry.
- Access to our Mayfair center in the heart of the city.
